About EcoWizz

An independent register of small green jobs around a house.

EcoWizz lists the ordinary, low-cost, reversible jobs a householder can do without help: draught-proofing, catching rainwater, running a compost heap, mending things instead of replacing them, and saving seed.

Each entry is written the same way. It says what the job is, what it needs, how long it takes and how you know it worked. Where a job has a step people skip, the entry says so. Where a job has a limit, the entry states the limit rather than trusting the reader to guess it.

Where we stop

No mains electricity, gas, water mains, boilers, flues, roofs, ladders past single storey, structural work or anything requiring a qualified person. If a job could hurt somebody, it is not in this register.

The site is not a shop and not a reviewer. It carries no product recommendations, no brands, no models, no prices and no “best” lists. It makes no claims about what a job will save in money or energy, because those figures depend on a house we have not seen. Food-safety and health guidance stays entirely conventional.

How it is paid for

By the supporters listed on the front page. There is no advertising and nothing is sold here.

EcoWizz is an independent guide to practical household jobs. It is not a retailer, installer or advisory service.
